Terms and Conditions

Terms of Hire 



Ice Queen agrees to the following:-

  • To be punctual
  • To supply rink, barriers, skates, disabled skaters chair and all other allied items specified in clean and good working order.
  • To Supply the required number of staff to ensure smooth operation of the rink, and reindeer if applicable.
  • To supply staff that are fully trained, professional and polite at all times.
  • To Supply at least 1 person with basic first aid training to each rink site.
  • To man the rink in accordance with the wishes of the hirer – ie work to session times if required.
  • To keep the rink fully operational during the expressed hire times
  • To have all items covered by £10m public liability insurance.
  • To ensure the safety of all participants at all times

We require our customers to agree to the following:

  • The customer confirms that they have full permission to site the rink as requested, and that any council permission, land owner’s permission, where necessary, has been granted.
  • That parking is available in close proximity to the site where the rink is to be set up, and if necessary any parking permits or security passes for our staff have been obtained in advance.
  • That the venue is accessible and unencumbered both prior to agreed arrival and at departure times. It will be assumed that all ice rinks will be sited at ground floor level, (either inside or outside). Whilst on occasions we may be able to access other areas, this must be agreed in advance, and will incur additional charges. If prior knowledge of areas other than those specified are encountered on the day, it may not be possible to set up rink, and full hire charges will be incurred.
  • Customer must ensure that the area where it is intended for the rink is to be set up is flat and level, and if it has been agree that the customer will provide sub surface of 18mm butted joint wooden base, that this is present on arrival and that no loose particles are present on such surfaces.
  • If crowd control barriers are required around the installation areas, they are to be supplied by the customer unless specified at the time of booking. This will be indicated on the booking confirmation. If crowd control barriers are required to be supplied by Ice Queen, advance notice is required.
  • It will be assumed that there will be access to a 13 amp power supply, unless agreed in advance.
  • If Banners are to be attached to the side of the rink, customer must agree to use existing holes only.
  • No permanent fixing to the barriers can be carried out. Use of any sort of marker pens is strictly prohibited on any of the barriers.
  • If any hours (including build & de-rig time) are during darkness customer will provide adequate lighting.
  • If it is the intention of customer to charge the public to use the rink they must provide the staff to collect the money and provide suitable poster displaying costs.
  • The Hirer must note that for Safety reasons, no food, drinks or pets may be allowed on the rink at any time.
  • The Hirer must note that for Safety we will, not under any circumstances, allow person intoxicated with alcohol to use the rink.
  • If the rink is located for more than 1 day duration, the customer is required to provide security outside operation hours.
  • The Customer agrees to take full responsibility for any losses outside of operational hours. All such costs will be borne by the hirer.
  • In the extremely unlikely event of any complaint being made against Ice Queen the hirer agrees to make such complaint known at the time of hire, in order that every attempt may be made at rectifying any issues raised.
  • For hire at schools the hirer must ensure that children are suitably clothed and that they wear gloves at all times.
